A Tale of Two States: comparing the Covid-19 response in Yucatan, Mexico vs Georgia, USA.

In March of 2020 we were just getting settled into our new place. I had decided to stay and get the house fully operational and ride out the Covid-19 pandemic in Merida. I purchased supplies, food, and beer and was ready to ride this pandemic out quarantined alone. Then came the realization that I might not be able to get out of the country before some very important, once in a lifetime, family events would occur, and all of of sudden I was on a plane back to Georgia to ride out the pandemic with my folks. This was on March 31st, which turned out to be the last flight out of Merida until April 20th, 2020.
