What Is Eating Up Our Budget?

Last month I posted a survey from several family units that gave a general idea of how much people spend on food each month. In that article, I told you that I would track my monthly spending for October, like a hawk, to report accurate numbers for my family. Now I need to give you guys a BIG disclaimer. We eat out a lot. We ate out a lot in the states as well. When I say a lot, I mean at least 1 to 2 times a day. Also, we eat at some of the most expensive places in Merida, Mexico, routinely. This month alone, my wife and I have spent $75.00 each for a 5-course meal with wine pairings on separate occasions. Use this information as a worst-case scenario for a family of 4, really 3 adults and a toddler.


I am giving you information from all sources such as groceries, restaurants, uber eats, and Rappi food deliveries. The least amount was from groceries. However, we did eat more breakfast meals at home during the week. Take a look at the video below for an explanation.
